VR is coming in fast and loud, numerous big tech companies are designing there own version of head mounted displays to engaged and immerse the masses and its time for you to hop on board. Bellow is a simple list of the necessary equipment and gear needed for you to easily enjoy Virtual Reality

First you will need to choose a headset. Currently available are a variety of headsets within broued price range. Starting with the easily accessible would be Google Cardboard ($15), a fold-able cardboard headset with 2 plastic lenses built in, simply insert your smart phone and select a compatible app and Wala! VR Headset created. Samsung Gear VR is similar in the fact that a compatible smartphone is inserted but in a sleeker, solid design equipped with touch-pad and adjustable diopter. Though in the coming months many new VR headsets are meeting the market and many more to finish out the year. All backed by big tech companies; including the HTC Vive powered by Steam, Facebooks’ Oculus Rift, Sony PlayStationVR just to name a few. The PlayStationVR will be compatible with existing PlayStation 4 consoles but the Vive and Rift will need support from a pretty beefy computer.

Once you have confidently picked out a headset, its time buy a sweet gaming computer. The Vive and Rift both need some high performance parts in order just to run. Current recommended Specs for both ask for at least a NVIDIA GTX 970/AMD 290 Video card, Intel i5-6400 CPU, 8GB+ RAM, HDMI 1.3 and a slew of USB 3.0 Ports. Running on Windows 7, 8.1, 10 (64 bit). If you chose the Gear VR or Cardboard option then no need to shell out any money for a new computer but don’t be jealous when you see some amazing games come out in the near future on the higher end platforms.

Last but certainly not least, pick yourself up a good ‘ol fashion swivel chair. Allows for complete 360 viewing and bonus back support! Seriously, they help enhance the experience, not having to tweak your neck looking back, not stumbling over when standing. There ingenious pieces of human craftsmanship work wonders in VR.
